§
AutoCAD Raster Design adds value to AutoCAD or AutoCAD software-based products.
AutoCAD alone enables you to insert, view, and plot raster images, but you cannot edit and modify these images or perform complex image analysis.

With AutoCAD Raster Design you can modify and save or export images for use with other drawings or applications. As a raster conversion and editing application, Raster Design includes a more intuitive and easy-to-use image management tool to help manage the numerous raster files you may be using in your project. It also includes additional tools such as tonal adjustment, palette controls, raster entity manipulation (REM) with SmartPick, raster snap, image rubbersheeting, optical character recognition (OCR), and vectorization tools with SmartCorrect. In addition, Raster Design supports a wide range of industry-standard raster formats, such as JPG 2000 and Lizardtech MrSID. It also enables you to display and analyze digital elevation models (DEMs) and multispectral data (satellite imagery such as Landsat and IKONOS) to assist in better decision making.

AutoCAD Raster Design extends your investment in AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoCAD Land Desktop software for civil engineering, land use, and development; in AutoCAD Map 3D software for GIS and mapping; AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD MEP for building design; and AutoCAD Mechanical, and AutoCAD Electrical software for manufacturing. Built on the AutoCAD software platform, this family of products helps improve the overall productivity of your design teams.
