AutoCAD and Conceptual Design
§Which of the these images delivers a clearer understanding of the design?
The Answer: It depends.
The image on the left is a conceptual design of the kitchen, intended to communicate how the kitchen will look when completed – a vision by the architect for their paying client.
The image on the right is a drawing documenting the kitchen, describing the placement of the walls, doors, the fixtures and their electrical contacts. This is intended for the contractor who will ultimately build this new kitchen.
What has the role of AutoCAD typically been in creating these types of drawings throughout the project process?
